Matt Hulse –
This book’s in my top ten. Beautifully succinct, funny, moving and even a little educational. With Reading, it’s a case of ‘if you know, you know’ of course, so its appeal is niche but if you DO know, this is essential literature. It sits next to cherished volumes by William McGonagall, Ivor Cutler, Stevie Smith, Quentin Crisp, Oscar Wilde and Fernando Pessoa. Fine illustrations too.
