Geoff Sawers tells the story of the very building in which this Waterstone’s is located. He will talk about its life and origins, from the Lollards of the 1400s, through Puritanism and persecution in the 1500s and 1600s, respectability in the 1800s, decline in the 1960s and its restoration to the bookshop it is today. Followed by book signing and refreshments.
